Juliette Veber
Born in England in 1973, Juliette moved to Auckland with her parents when she was five. After graduating with a Bachelor of Communication Studies majoring in television, she entered the film industry in 1995.
One of her first jobs was production co-ordinator on the Harry Sinclair television series and feature film Topless Women Talk About Their Lives. She continued to work with Harry and Producer Fiona Copland, as Associate Producer of The Price of Milk in 1997 and as Producer of Toy Love in 2002.
After developing other documentary projects in New York, she decided to return to New Zealand and make a film about her home city of Auckland. She spent three years in South Auckland researching and shooting Trouble Is My Business, before relocating to Wellington in 2006 to complete post-production of the film.
She currently holds the position of Short Film Manager at the New Zealand Film Commission.
Trouble Is My Business is Juliette's first feature-length documentary.
Editor - Cushla Dillon
Sydney in 1991 with a BA in Communications, majoring in Film Production and Theory. After stints directing and production managing, she moved into editing, and forged a successful career as a film editor, winning two awards for Best Editor on a Feature Film in the New Zealand Film and TV Awards (Topless Women Talk About Their Lives in 1997 and Snakeskin in 2001).
Two years ago Cushla returned to NZ after working in the UK and USA, and began editing Trouble Is My Business with Juliette. Cushla now divides her time between editing and screenwriting, and last year attended the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam to develop A Guide to Magical Thinking, a screenplay she began writing with the late Brad McGann.
Producer - Vicky Pope
Vicky has over 9 years production and development experience through her work as a Wellington-based television and film producer. She spent three years at the NZ Film Commission as their Development Executive and has also undertaken an internship with UK script development training agency ARISTA.
Vicky is currently working as a freelance producer of television commercials. She is also in post-production with the short film The Handover and has recently completed delivery of a NZ Film Commission funded short film The Graffiti of Mr Tupaia starring Rawiri Paratene, shot and delivered on 35mm film.
She is in pre-production with a second NZFC funded short film Choice Night, slated for production in September 2008 and is currently producing the television documentary Flight of the Conchords: On Air for Prime TV.
Vicky is developing several dramatic feature film and television projects including the animated TV comedy series The Pen (Executive Producer Elizabeth Mitchell, Writer/Directors Jemaine Clement and Guy Capper) and feature films Two Little Boys with Robert and Duncan Sarkies, and Guy Fawkes Night by Peter O’Donoghue.
